My IVF Journey: A Quiet Path to Motherhood

There’s a quiet side to IVF that not many people talk about.
Sometimes, you hesitate to share it.

Not because you’re ashamed, but because you know how quickly people assume, question, or try to fill in the blanks of a story that isn’t theirs.

For us, there were assumptions. Many people immediately believed the challenge must have been on my partner’s side.

But the truth is, it was something I was going through.
And that’s okay.

It took me time to say that so simply, without overexplaining or feeling the need to justify it.

Years ago, we had planned to get pregnant alongside close friends. Everything felt aligned, and we truly believed it would happen naturally. Even our doctor reassured us that there were no clear issues, nothing that suggested it wouldn’t.

But sometimes, life unfolds differently than expected.

There were moments of uncertainty, quiet frustration, and learning to let go of timelines I thought I could control.

For a long time, I kept this part of our story private. But I’ve realized how many women carry similar experiences quietly.

What I’ve learned is that fertility doesn’t always follow logic, timelines, or what you’ve been told “should” happen. And when things don’t go as planned, it can feel confusing, isolating, and quietly heavy.

IVF became part of our story not because something was “wrong,” but because it was the path that led us to her.

It was something we walked through together, even though so much of it was happening within me.

The journey itself wasn’t soft. It was filled with injections, waiting, uncertainty, and moments that tested me mentally and emotionally in ways I hadn’t expected. But it also showed me a kind of strength I didn’t know I had.

If you’re on a similar path, you’re not alone. And there is nothing about it that makes you less of a woman or less capable of becoming a mother.

Every step, every delay, every unknown led us to her.

And looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Becoming a mother shaped everything that followed. It deepened the way I think about care, softness, and intention. Not because the journey was easy, but because it wasn’t.

When she was finally here, all I wanted was gentleness around her. Thoughtfulness in the smallest details. A sense of calm after everything it took to bring her into the world.

That feeling stayed with me. It’s what led us to create Pipa & Pierre, rooted in the belief that what touches our babies should feel safe, intentional, and truly gentle from the very beginning.
